Application for certification of structural engineers

This application is for applying to become a certified structural engineer at Certification, Ramboll in structure classes 2, 3 & 4 as well as conduct third-party inspection, as stated in the Building Regulations guidelines (’Bekendtgørelse om certificeringsordninger for dokumentation af tekniske forhold i bygningsreglementet’, Order 1693 of 12. December 2024) and in the Danish Building Regulations (BEK 1399), chapters 1, 15, 26, 28, 30, 32 and 33 are important.

Before filling out the application, it is recommended to read our Guide for Application, fill out the CV template as well as read and fill out the statement of competences and prepare your project description.

Statement of competences

To ensure your documentation meets the requirements stated in the Building Regulations guidelines, you must fill out the Statement of Qualifications and Competences. The overviews are available in each structure class.

Be aware that the Statement of Competences will be used for the assessment of the application and is required to be submitted as appendix 5 in the Application.

When you apply to become a certified engineer and are assessed by Certification, Ramboll, you must demonstrate that you have acquired the needed qualifications and competences by attaching appendices to the application cf. BEK 1399 and BEK 1693.

The appendices must contain the following information and be submitted in PDF format, where the file name must not contain more than 46 characters.

Appendix 1 - CV

CV must include a description of relevant experience, minimum:

3 years for structure class 2

5 years for structure classes 3 & 4

9 years for conduct of third-party inspection

The project(s) must be a maximum of eight years old at the time of application calculated in relation to the time of issue of the building permit or 5 years old at the time of application calculated in relation to the time of issue of the occupancy permit.

Description of your work in the project(s) and the background for choosing the project.

You need to prepare a project description that includes the points outlined in the Guidelines. Be aware that if you are applying for more than one project, the project description must include information about all the projects.

Prices

The prices are exclusive of taxes.

The creation fee is payable upon application for certification. The remaining certification amount is paid when the scrutinize is initiated.
If it turns out during the investigation that the material is difficult to access due to a lack of structure, will Certification,Ramboll in special cases be able to charge an additional fee.

The price can be adjusted if The Ministry of Social Affairs, Housing and Senior Citizens changes the legal basis.
The price is adjusted once a year, (in January) according to ILON12 (MA Consulting, etc.)
