When Regin Røndal-Liniger reflects on his seven years at Ramboll, one thing stands out: the privilege of working on complex projects with some of the best experts in their fields. “What excites me most is leading projects where I get to collaborate with people who are true specialists — sometimes among the very best in Denmark, or even globally,” he says.

Regin’s career began in the public sector, where he worked in different ministries and organisations before moving into consulting. That gave him valuable insights into how organisations operate. At Ramboll, he has built a career as a senior project leader, where development is not tied to people management, but to the ability to deliver complex projects and create value for clients.

Innovating with world-class experts

For Regin, the real differentiator in consulting at Ramboll is the integration of management insight with technical depth. “In our projects, I often play the role of project lead, while drawing on the knowledge of engineers who are absolute experts in their fields. Their input is what makes our solutions robust and convincing for clients,” he explains.

One recent example was a major proposal: “We had ten consultants internally and external partners working side by side. Being in a room with such skilled people, each bringing years of experience, was incredibly inspiring. It shows the power of combining different perspectives to solve complex challenges.”

That collaborative approach not only strengthens project outcomes but also makes the work rewarding.

Over the years, Regin has seen Ramboll Management Consulting transform from a focus on efficiency and organisational change to a strong emphasis on sustainability. It required him to step into new territory. “I don’t have a sustainability background,” he admits. “But I used my analytical skills to help develop new approaches to sustainability strategies for companies. It was challenging at first, but also one of the most rewarding experiences in my career.”

For Regin, this evolution reflects both the consulting market and society’s wider needs. “Our role is not just about optimising processes, it’s about helping clients adapt to a changing world and make their business models more resilient and responsible.”

Regin appreciates the freedom he has to shape his work. “As long as clients are satisfied and I deliver value, there’s a lot of trust in how I carry out my projects. That trust allows me to focus on what really matters: creating results.”

But in the bigger picture, it’s about contributing to society. Every time we develop strategies or deliver infrastructure projects that support sustainable development, we’re building a small part of a larger change.”

He sums it up simply: “Excellence for me is not just delivering for the client — it’s about delivering solutions that help society move forward.”
